How tutors can create a LINE Official Account and connect it to Kebao

Why should tutors use a LINE Official Account instead of personal LINE?

• Keep work and personal life apart: parents add your work account and don't see your personal posts.
• Automation: an Official Account can connect to a system that replies with leave results and sends reminders automatically.
• Rich menu: parents tap the menu to request leave, check lessons and pay.

Steps to create and connect your account

   Create a LINE Official Account

   Sign in to LINE Official Account Manager with your LINE account, create an Official Account, and enter a name (for example "Lin Maths Tutoring") and a category.

   Enable the Messaging API

   Enable it under Settings › Messaging API in your Official Account, then choose or create a provider.

   Get the Channel secret

   Open the matching channel in LINE Developers and find the Channel secret under Basic settings.

   Issue a Channel access token

   On the same channel's Messaging API tab, issue a long-lived Channel access token.

   Paste them into Kebao

   Paste both keys in Kebao under Settings › LINE Official Account. The system checks the keys and sets up the webhook URL and rich menu automatically.

   Adjust response settings

   Turn on the webhook in your Official Account's response settings, and we recommend turning off the default auto-reply messages so parents don't get duplicate replies.

What should I know about LINE message quotas?

The LINE Official Account free plan lets you send 200 proactive messages a month; beyond that you need a paid plan (see LINE's published pricing). Replies when parents message you or take an action don't count towards the quota.

For a private tutor with few students, class reminders and renewal notices usually fit within the free quota; with more students, keep an eye on monthly usage.

Are my keys safe?

Kebao stores the Channel secret and access token encrypted and only uses them on the server when sending messages; neither support staff nor the front end can read them in plain text. The keys are deleted when you disconnect. If you suspect a key has leaked, reissue it in LINE Developers and update it in Kebao.
