Pricing and plans
How much does Kebao cost?
The Free plan is US$0 for up to 3 students; Pro for private tutors is US$12 a month (US$122 a year, one-to-one courses only); Workshop is US$19 a month (US$194 a year, group classes allowed); Studio for tutoring centres is US$39 a month (US$398 a year). Prices are in US dollars, include tax and are billed by Creem; yearly billing is 15% off 12 months.
What are the limits on the Free plan?
Up to 3 students, with no online payments, automatic low-balance renewal pushes or public enrolment page. Leave rules, the lesson ledger, LINE leave requests and bank-transfer reporting and reconciliation are all included.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. After you turn off auto-renewal you keep your plan until the end of the current period, then move back to Free automatically.
Are there any costs besides the subscription?
Two, paid by you directly to third parties: LINE Official Account messaging fees (most private tutors stay within the free quota of 200 messages a month) and online payment-processing fees (about 2.75%, paid to ECPay or NewebPay). Bank transfers carry no processing fee.
How is a centre with several branches billed?
Studio covers one site (your head office). Each extra branch is US$19 a month (US$194 a year), up to 4 branches, all paid by the head office. Every branch connects its own LINE Official Account, payments and enrolment page, and the owner switches between branches with one login.
Payments and tuition
Does tuition really bypass the platform?
Yes. Online payments go through your own ECPay account (individual sellers don't need a registered company), and ECPay pays out directly to your bank. With bank transfers, parents pay you directly. Kebao only creates payment requests, reconciles and keeps the books.
How can parents pay?
With ECPay: card, ATM transfer, convenience-store payment code and TWQR. NewebPay also offers LINE Pay. You can also accept bank transfers only, with parents reporting the last 5 digits and you confirming receipt.
How do I reconcile bank transfers?
Parents report the transfer date, amount and last 5 digits of their account in LINE (optionally with a screenshot). You or a finance member check your bank statement and tap "Confirm"; only then are lessons added and a receipt generated. Transfers are never confirmed automatically.
Is the receipt the system issues an invoice?
No. Payment receipts are issued in your name and only confirm that payment was received. Tutors or centres registered for tax should issue invoices themselves as required by law. The subscription fee the platform charges you is billed by Creem, our merchant of record, which emails you a receipt; we don't issue Taiwan e-invoices for it.
LINE and parents
Do parents have to add me on LINE?
We recommend it. Leave requests, lesson balances, make-ups and payments all happen inside LINE, with no extra app. For parents who aren't linked, you can still mark attendance, adjust lesson counts and record payments in the dashboard, and undelivered notices are listed on your home screen so you can pass them on.
What if I don't have a LINE Official Account?
A LINE Official Account is free to create, and the free plan includes 200 messages a month. Kebao has a step-by-step guide; once you paste in your keys, the webhook and rich menu are set up automatically.
Whose name are notices sent under?
Yours, from your own LINE Official Account. Parents add your account, and notices say they follow your course rules, not the platform's name.
What happens when my LINE message quota runs out?
Replies to parent actions (leave requests, look-ups) don't use your push quota. You get a warning as proactive pushes near the limit; once the quota is used up, important notices are listed on your home screen so you can contact parents yourself.
Leave rules and the ledger
If I change the rules, do past records change?
No. Every save creates a new rule version; past decisions keep the rule version and calculation they were made under, and only later leave requests follow the new rules. For special cases, you can also waive a single decision in one tap.
Which leave rules can I set?
The leave cut-off (default 24 hours before class), late-leave handling (deduct 1 lesson, deduct half a lesson, no deduction but no make-up, or no deduction plus a make-up voucher), no-show handling, the monthly make-up voucher cap and validity, group-class leave options, and how many lessons are left when a renewal notice goes out.
Are lessons cancelled automatically on national holidays?
Yes. The system follows the government calendar and skips national holidays and make-up days off; you can switch individual dates back to a normal class.
Tutoring centres and enrolment
How are tutoring-centre registration and invoices handled?
Registering a tutoring centre is the operator's responsibility under the law. The payment receipts the system generates are issued in your name and are not government uniform invoices; tutors or centres registered for tax should issue invoices themselves. The subscription fee the platform charges you is billed by Creem, our merchant of record, which emails you a receipt; we don't issue Taiwan e-invoices for it.
What happens when a class is full?
Parents can join the waitlist. When someone drops out, the system notifies the next family in order; once they confirm on LINE, the place is held and a payment request is created.
Do I need a separate website for enrolment?
No. Paid plans (Pro, Workshop and Studio) include a public enrolment page listing open courses with live remaining places, where parents can sign up or book a trial class online, with a share image and QR code.
Data and your account
Can I export my data or leave at any time?
Yes. Download all your data any time from Settings › Data export and deletion, and export payments and monthly reports to CSV. You can cancel your subscription at any time and keep using it until the end of the current period.
Can finance staff see payments only?
Yes. The Studio plan lets you invite finance members who can only access payments, reconciliation and exports, with no access to other teaching settings.
My centre has several teachers. Can they have separate timetables?
Yes. The Studio plan lets you invite teachers, assign class sessions or one-to-one lessons to them, and switch a single lesson to a substitute. Teachers sign in to see only their own timetable, students and leave notices, and if a teacher is booked for two lessons at the same time, the timetable flags the clash.
